Free resource for students considering an automotive career

The Institute of the Motor Industry (IMI) has launched Indicate, a set of motoring themed, free teaching resource that schools can use to deliver the Key Stage 3 maths curriculum and introduce students to the motor industry. Sponsored by Jaguar Land Rover and available to schools nationwide, Indicate has been adopted by local schools including The Park ESC in Hatfield and Birchwood High School in Bishops Stortford

ATA Vehicle Inspection Technician Approved by VOSA as Prerequisite MOT Route

After working closely with the industry and VOSA, the Institute of the Motor Industry (IMI) recently launched a level 3 Automotive Technician Accreditation (ATA) route in Light Vehicle Inspection. Meeting VOSA's 'technical competence' criteria, this new ATA route provides an extended opportunity for individuals looking to take the VOSA MOT tester training course

Apprenticeships to run for a minimum of 12 months

Businesses that employ young apprentices will be required to run schemes for a minimum of 12 months under new rules unveiled by the Government. Apprenticeships for those aged 19 and over should now run for between one and four years, while those being taken by 16 to 18 year olds will be required to last for a minimum of one year

Santa Pod Raceway, the home of European Drag Racing, has announced a commendable initiative to reward students and apprentices who are part of the Institute of the Motor Industry's (IMI) new online communities; namely free passes to this year's FIA European Drag Racing Championship events.
