Guide for Organisers

By participating in a work experience placement students can develop their knowledge and understanding of the world of work by taking part in real activities where they will develop a better appreciation of the skills, abilities and attitudes required in the retail motor industry. For employers it offers a number of benefits to raise the awareness of career opportunities within their organisation and promote the industry more generally.

Contained within the toolkit are general guidance notes and practical information on delivering a work experience placement within the retail motor industry. Its intention is to provide all parties with a structure which will ensure the maximum benefit for both the employer and the student.

This toolkit has been produced to help organisers and employers ensure that the student enjoys a rich and rewarding experience, allowing them to achieve the maximum learning benefit as well as gaining an insight into the retail motor industry as a worthwhile career option.

The work experience toolkit has been divided into sections containing guidance material and documentation tailored to suit the needs of the particular user. Together each section comprises an entire package to assist with the organisation and delivery of a structured work experience placement.
