The need for a complete review and overhaul of the Automotive Suite of standards was driven by the Sector Qualification Strategy (SQS) feedback, where employers had requested new and revised standards to fill gaps in current provision and ensure up to date and fit-for-purpose qualifications.
The draft national occupational standards have been written to reflect the specific competencies of various job roles within the automotive sector. The aim is that they may be used to form the basis of new qualifications, as optional or stand alone units, or as the basis of training programmes.
National occupational standards (NOS) for the Automotive Retail sector are now ready for consultation - please download from the table below. Your participation in the consultation process would be greatly appreciated, please feel free to comment on one or more of the industry sub-groups under review in accordance with your area(s) of experience and expertise.
