In order to ensure that what we do meets the needs and expectations of our sector we constantly require to communicate with those individuals and organisations which influence and support our activities. Our Sector Skills Agreement provides a framework for collaboration with all key government agencies and we also have permanent and short life groups who provide help and guidance in Scotland.
Scottish Employers Forum
A highly influential group made up of leading Scottish employers from across the sector who meet three times a year to advise and direct our policy in Scotland.
Highlands & Islands Careers Group
Consisting of Careers Scotland staff, school teachers, training providers and employers this group have a particular focus on new entrants to the industry and how the particular issues within the Highlands and Islands area addressed. In the past they have been instrumental in the creation of our work experience toolkit and the development of innovative events to encourage new recruits.
Lowland Scotland Careers Group
Similar in make up to the Highlands and Islands group they represent Central and Lowland Scotland. Members of this group have recently been actively engaged with school pupils reviewing our careers resource materials from the users perspective causing a redesign of some literature.
Quality Improvement Group - Scotland
Developing high quality, fit for purpose, training programmes, facilities and staff are all critical to raising skill levels within the sector. Leading providers and colleges from the Scottish training network bring their knowledge and expertise together to drive forward initiatives which seek to meet these aspirations.
Other short life groups are convened as necessary where a need exists.
