The IMI in Scotland

Our Scotland base is in the shadow of the Forth Bridge at South Queensferry, where our National Manager Sandy Burgess, and Development Manager David Massie are located within the premises of the Scottish Motor Trade Association. Together they address the skills needs of 5,400 businesses employing around 43,000 employees across the automotive retail sector in Scotland. By advising and influencing the many key organisations that have an interest in skills development within Scotland they bring a strategic focus to the issues affecting the sector. These organisations include:

 -  Scottish Government
 -  Scottish Enterprise
 -  Highlands and Islands Enterprise
 -  Skills Development Scotland
 -  SQA, City & Guilds and IMI Awards
 -  Learndirect Scotland
 -  Jobcentre Plus
 -  Colleges and Private Training Providers

Guided by our Scottish Employer Forum, made up of leading employers representing our entire footprint, we aim to ensure that our industry’s training and education needs are met, raising skill levels and helping to increase the productivity and growth of the sector.
