In January 2008 research was carried out to support the IMI in the delivery of improving Leadership and Management within the sector. The following document is a summary of the findings.
Good Practice in Leadership and Management Development within the Automotive Industry
ATA is a voluntary assessment programme proving the current competence of technicians and designed to meet the skills requirements of the retail motor industry. It includes the requirement for technicians to sign up to a special Code of Conduct. This report illustrates findings of both financial and non-financial benefits to employers and learners of having ATA accredition.
ATA Research Report
An Ofsted survey of college provision identifying good practice in engineering and manufacturing technologies, with good references to motor vehicle. This report identifies examples of good practice from Ofsted inspections of 18 colleges graded Good or Outstanding carried out between November 2006 and March 2007.
