Core Skills

These qualifications cover the skills used in jobs and industry and include: Communication (reading, writing and speaking); Numeracy (using numbers in measurement and graghical format); Information and Communication Technology (ICT) (ICT operations, processing, finding and keeping information). Core Skills are a part of Apprenticeships.

Who are they suitable for?

• Those undertaking an Apprenticeship with a Core Skills requirement

How do you get them?

• Achieved on a full or part time basis at an IMI Awards approved centre
• By additional training
• Typically the required level is completed within an academic year
