Get your badge of Professionalism!!!!!!!!!!!!

ATA & IMI Membership developments were the topics Martin Hutchinson, IMI Manager for NI, spoke about at the NIBA/ABP conference.  Held in the Valley Conference Centre Lisburn and attended by 138 Body Repair professionals.  £318 was raised by delegates for BEN.

Accreditation of Technicians (ATA) is moving from 5 to 3 year renewal to ensure their competence is right up to date with modern technology but instead of a complete retest candidates can keep their ATA qualification up to date by completing Assessed Outcome Modules (AOM).

Martin also explained how IMI Membership is constantly being updated with even more member benefits but most importantly IMI Membership is another way people in the motor businesses can demonstrate that they are professional and trustworthy.

For more information and a special offer on membership contact Martin Hutchinson MIMI martinh@motor.org.uk, 02890737986.

Congratulations to Michael McCulloch
Sales Manager, Lindsay Cars ( N.Ireland )

The first Manager in NI to qualify with the new AMA qualification since its' launch in November after the very successful pilot scheme.

"It was a fantastic experience. I can see the value to the business in terms of AMA providing a relevant assessment of people's competence. It will be very useful in terms of identifying people with the ability to succeed and for succession planning." said Michael.

Automotive Management Accreditation - Delivering value to the automotive retail industry.

Automotive Management Accreditation (AMA) is the first accreditation scheme to address managerial needs specific to the sector.

It has been designed to measure the competence of automotive managers and signpost development needs benefitting both individuals and the businesses for which they work.

Less than 18% of managers within the retail automotive industry have gained a Level 5 qualification or assessed training programme compared to the average in all others sectors of 45%, and with the sector facing some very real challenges over the next decade, development of strategic and operational management skills is vital.

With Automotive Management Accreditation, the IMI have developed a product which addresses the previous concerns with management training, but still offers a robust assessment of competence.

Overall, it's a powerful solution to help bring about a cultural shift to improve management and leadership development, business improvement and professionalism within the sector.

For you to find out how AMA could improve your effectiveness as a manager contact the IMI's NI Manager, Martin Hutchinson MIMI on 02890737986 or martinh@motor.org.uk
