Following a detailed audit of its training resources and assessment procedures, United Paint Distributors has been appointed an approved assessment centre of the Institute of the Motor Industry (IMI), joining the IMI’s 300-strong centre network.
Training carried out by United Paint Distributors will enable staff to achieve recognition from the IMI through its Quality Assured Awards (QAA) initiative, for assessed in-house training programmes, as well as the awarding of National Vocational Qualifications (NVQs). Additionally, the company is seeking IMI membership status for its team of 24 field technicians.
Barrie Dudey, chief executive, United Paint Distributors and a Fellow of the Institute, commented:
"Our commitment to best practice is reflected in our new partnership with the IMI, which will enhance our credibility in the marketplace through the individual professional recognition of our technical team."
Ian Cheetham, IMI head of accreditation, added:
"This new partnership is aimed at bringing added value to United Paint Distributors through the formal recognition of individual professional competence at a national level, which will strengthen its comprehensive package of bodyshop and management solutions to the accident repair industry."
