A new series of six on-line learning programmes designed to build competence in the sale of insurance and related products has been introduced by Pinnacle Insurance plc, which has also secured accreditation from the Institute of the Motor Industry (IMI).
Under the ‘Proficiency Solutions’ brand, Pinnacle Insurance’s new training package underpins its commitment to compliance with new regulations imposed by the Financial Services Authority (FSA), governing the sale of all general insurance products from 2005.
Following an audit by the IMI of the company’s training materials, delivery methods and assessment strategies, Pinnacle Insurance has become an IMI Quality Assured Awards (QAA) assessment centre. The new learning programmes will be offered to a range of clients from mid 2004 and are assessed using on-line multiple-choice questions.
Business managers and sales executives who complete all six modules will receive an IMI QAA certificate, providing formal external recognition of their individual competence.
Martin Crannis, Commercial Director, Pinnacle Insurance, said:
"We are extremely delighted to be among the first financial services companies to become an IMI approved QAA centre. Proficiency Solutions is at the very heart of our market offering, so this is a very exciting development for us; clients, intermediaries and their personnel can now benefit from modular, internet-based insurance sales training that offers maximum input at minimal cost."
Gavin Hall, IMI business development manager, commented: "In achieving QAA status, Pinnacle has made clear its intent to develop the competence of those selling insurance products to meet the new legislation. This is a critical issue for the retail motor industry and our new partnership with Pinnacle will help to deliver key benefits to its staff and customers."
