Research reveals the cars most likely to break road laws

Drivers of a Land Rover Discovery HSE V6 TD or a Land Rover Range Rover Sport HSE TD6 are most likely to break the speed limit.

Meanwhile, those behind the wheel of a Ford Galaxy Zetec, a BMW XSI Sport or a Volkswagen Polo e 60 have an increased risk of being spotted driving while using a mobile phone.

These are just a few observations made following a new study by Confused.com, which went on to reveal that owners of a Vauxhall Astra Edition 16V Coupe are most likely to drive without insurance on their vehicle.

Gareth Kloet, head of car insurance at Confused.com, noted: "The rules of the road are designed to help shape our driving habits and to maximise road safety.

"Our research has nevertheless shown that driving legally is clearly a challenge to a significant proportion of drivers."

A separate study conducted by Duck Tape has recently observed that the average driver can expect to witness one disruptive snow shower, reach the office late three times due to heavy traffic and suffer a breakdown in their vehicle at least once during the winter.
