Motor Industry Magazine’s Forum is intended to be a place for lively, intelligent and informative discussions.

It is strictly for use by current IMI members only. Users are reminded that they are bound by the Institute’s Code of Conduct and any infringement of this will lead to disciplinary action.

Please also observe the following:

Neither the Administrators of Motor Industry Magazine ("The Website") Forum (“The Forum"), nor the Moderators are responsible for the privacy practices of any user.

You will not do anything which would assist anyone who is not a registered user and IMI member to gain access to the Forum.

Be aware of the fact that all information disclosed in The Forum becomes public information and you should exercise caution when deciding to share any of your personal information or that of the organisation you may work for.

The Forum may contain links to other websites and files. These sites are not under our control and we are not responsible in any way for any of their contents. We will, however, remove links to material we feel is inappropriate as we become aware of them.

Links to, or URLs of, personal websites or other community sites may be removed.
Posts actively soliciting sponsorship or linking to online petitions may be removed.

Motor Industry Magazine reserves the right to reproduce and publish any material placed on the Forum. We also reserve the right (but undertake no duty) to review, edit, move or delete any material on the Forum, at our sole discretion.

Motor Industry Magazine accepts no responsibility for any statements, material or other submissions placed on this Forum by you, or any third party, or for any loss or damage resulting from your breach of these rules.

We accept no responsibility for any infection by virus or other contamination.

No obscenity and abuse, including personal attacks on other users and comments that are deemed racist, sexist or homophobic will be tolerated.

You agree to indemnify Motor Industry Magazine from any and all claims and liabilities (including legal fees) that arise from your statements and material or other submissions you place on this website. This includes, any content that may put us in legal jeopardy, such as potentially libellous or defamatory postings, or which is posted in potential breach of copyright

We reserve the right to remove any content that is deemed by the moderator to contravene these rules.

Complaints about posted information.

Should you wish to make a complaint about a posting, please click on the "Complain about this Posting” link on the MIM Forum web pages which will enable you to email the Forum Moderator.

You will need you to provide the following details:

  • Your name, email address and username
  • A description of the unacceptable content and its internet page location in sufficient detail to allow us to locate it
  • A description of why you consider the content to be unacceptable
Please note:

When posting a complaint, you should ensure that to the best of your knowledge and understanding that the complaint is accurate and that you accept that fraudulent or nuisance complaints may result in revocation of your entitlement to access the MIM Forum.
