By improving the skills of your employees, you can give them more confidence in their abilities, which will result in an enhanced contribution to your business.
Right now, if your business has any training needs, or if you are considering taking on an apprentice, for just an hour of your time, a Skills Broker is on hand to offer free and impartial advice.
Skills Brokers support the Train to Gain initiative, which exists to help employers develop skills that are needed by their businesses. A Skills Broker can visit you, help you identify and discuss your training needs, organise specialist training providers and wherever possible, secure funding. This advice is free, as the objective is to assist in making your business more successful.
The majority of training can be delivered in the workplace and as well as funding any required qualifications, there is even provision to compensate your business for wages while your staff member is engaged in training. Wage Compensation is offered to employers with fewer than 50 full time employees. The rate payable for each employee (either £5.00 per hour or actual hourly wage costs) is for the actual number of delivery hours that the learner has been released from to undertake training.
