In response to demand for an independent sign of quality by both consumers and the
industry, the Professional Reassurance scheme has been launched by the IMI.
The Professional Reassurance sign shows customers that an establishment employs
professionally trained and qualified members and allows organisations to display
a sign of their commitment to high standards, training and professionalism.
The sign is issued annually and an organisation must verify that the details of
IMI members employed are up to date and that the IMI's code of conduct is being
adhered to.
Central to the Professional Reassurance scheme is the brass plaque, where names
of the staff who are IMI members are clearly displayed. Organisations may also choose
to display the IMI's Code of Conduct board.
Where the Professional Reassurance sign and brass plaque are displayed at dealerships
and other industry establishments, customers are assured that the key people in
the organisation are professionally trained and qualified Institute members.
